Sorrel Ginger Tea

Making your own sorrel ginger tea

Sorrel is known for its antioxidant properties. It has been used in a number of ways, such as to make: sorrel chutney, sorrel drink, sorrel wine and even as a sauce for roasted chicken and glaze for hams.

The sorrel plant (buds) also make a refreshing and tantalizing tea. Recent studies have shown that the juice from the sorrel buds can be used to prevent hypertension.

How to Make Sorrel Ginger Tea

Pick four - five buds of the sorrel from your vegetable garden
Wash thoroughly.
In a tea pot, bring a cup of water with small piece of ginger to a rapid boil. At this point add the sorrel buds and remove from flame. Cover and allow to draw for approximately three minutes. Enjoy Sorrel Ginger Tea!!!
