The tropics is filled with many plants that have been used throughout the ages, particularly by African slaves who were forced to find remedies for common illnesses. Despite, the evolution of medicine in the Caribbean, Many families still continue to use these traditional remedies to combat the effects of many symptoms associated with pain and other common diseases.

In most cases, many of these herbal plants are found growing wildly especially in rural areas where the climates are much denser.
